Origin Rules under Free Trade Agreements and Federal Trade Commission Regulations

Thursday, January 30, 2014
01:00 PM - 02:00 PM Eastern Standard Time

Please join Morgan Lewis for "Origin Rules under Free Trade Agreements and Federal Trade Commission Regulations," the first session of our three-part webinar series focused on issues in import and customs to discuss best practices for determining the country of origin under free trade agreements and Federal Trade Commission regulations as well as the conditions under which they apply.

Companies that manufacture and/or import goods into the United States under free trade agreements or that want to label goods as products of the United States must familiarize themselves with the applicable rules of origin in order to determine import duties, product labeling requirements, and whether merchandise can be sold to certain customers. Awareness of the country-of-origin rules helps importers to ensure their goods enter at the lowest cost, comply with import regulations, and deliver their goods to the right customers.
