Recruitment: Successfully Navigating a Safe Course to a Positive Outcome

November 11, 2015
04:30 PM - 06:00 PM GMT

Please join lawyers from our labour and employment practice for an interactive and practical seminar about the legal issues that arise during the recruitment process.

Our focus will be on planning and implementing a successful recruitment process in which your company acquires the best talent while avoiding inconvenient, expensive, or embarrassing legal claims. Our presenters will examine key issues relating to equality and data privacy legislation that can occur while searching for the perfect candidate. We will touch on the wider contractual issues that can arise when making or withdrawing an offer of employment— including assessing and verifying any obligations owed by a candidate to an existing employer.

The seminar will take you through the entire recruitment process, including the following topics:

  • Job descriptions
  • Advertising a vacancy
  • Selection of candidates
  • Equal opportunities monitoring
  • Psychometric testing
  • Interviews
  • Making an offer of employment
  • Withdrawing an offer of employment
  • Restrictive covenants, confidentiality, and intellectual property obligations
  • Background checks
  • Broadband Regulation
