Not to be outdone in the privacy realm, California passed its own data privacy legislation – the California Consumer Privacy Act or “CCPA.” It requires businesses to implement new disclosures and a procedure for responding to consumer requests for information or to delete information. Now, there are two kinds of businesses: (1) those who went through a GDPR implementation and now have to go through a whole new effort; or (2) those who did not need to implement GDPR, who now have a much bigger job in front of them.
