Please join us for "The New OSHA: A Dramatic Shift in the Landscape—Enforcement, Penalties, and Regulations in the Obama Administration for Employers," an interactive one-hour webcast presentation to discuss what EHS teams can expect in the year ahead, and how to adjust your organization's compliance strategies in response to these changes.

Safety and health issues are at the center of the Obama administration's commitment to greater workplace regulation and enforcement. The new Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA, Dr. David Michaels, has just been sworn in and the Department of Labor has just put forward an aggressive OSHA agenda with 29 new regulatory items.

Does your organization have a plan in place to prepare it for upcoming regulatory and enforcement changes? In addition to a robust regulatory agenda, OSHA has taken aggressive steps in enforcement, advancing significantly higher penalties for employer violations. Many of these changes have occurred at the policy subregulatory level-without significant public attention.

Under Dr. Michaels, OSHA is expected to pursue many new enforcement initiatives, including significant changes to the agency's Enhanced Enforcement Program (EEP) that have the potential to increase citations and penalties to companies with multiple OSHA violations. These proposed changes have significant implications for employers with multiple sites and any history of violations, as will the revisions to the OSH Act proposed in the Protecting America's Workers Act.
