Dr. Christoph Mikyska
Dr. Christoph Mikyska represents national and international clients on a broad array of intellectual property (IP) matters, including prosecution, portfolio management, brand and product strategy, licensing, and infringement matters, with a focus on trademarks, design, copyrights, and unfair competition. Christoph concentrates his practice on IP litigation. He has represented clients in high-profile trademark and copyright disputes before the German and European Union authorities and courts for many years, including landmark cases before German courts of appeal, with several cases ultimately decided by the German Federal Court of Justice (Bundesgerichtshof). Christoph speaks German, English, and Spanish.
Christoph represents clients in the relevant German infringement courts (first instance and appellate proceedings), the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA), the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and the EU courts (General Court and Court of Justice of the European Union) in all matters concerning trademark, design, and copyright law, as well as unfair competition law.
He counsels clients from the high-tech sector, in particular ecommerce and artificial intelligence (AI) companies, as well as clients from the media and entertainment industries, in all “soft” IP matters. He also advises major international fashion and retail companies on trademark, design, and unfair competition matters in Germany and the European Union.
World Trademark Review (WTR) 1000 consistently recognizes Christoph as a leading practitioner. In a recent edition of WTR 1000, clients noted that Christoph provides “thoughtful, business-minded legal advice, coupled with practical insights and a holistic perspective,” and that his “creative problem-solving skills have proven instrumental in navigating high-stakes, multifaceted matters.”
