Matthew J. Hamilton is a civil litigator and eDiscovery counsel with more than 29 years of experience representing clients in complex pharmaceutical and medical products liability, data breach, antitrust, and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on the defense of federal multidistrict litigation (MDL), coordinated state court actions, class actions, and other complex matters. His practice encompasses all phases of eDiscovery, from preservation and collection to cost-effective review and production. Matt also counsels clients on the legal and practical implications of the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI). Matt is certified in legal project management and legal lean sigma, with a singular focus on client value.

  • Served as the eDiscovery lead for a global medical device manufacturer in MDL and related international litigation and maintained a central database to ensure consistent positions across multiple matters and jurisdictions
  • Served as the eDiscovery lead supporting a financial technology company in its response to an FTC Second Request; the unprecedented volume of data and tight deadlines required the use of advanced AI analytics to identify and produce responsive data
  • Served on the eDiscovery advisory panel of a global pharmaceutical manufacturer, advising on developing eDiscovery and information governance implications of novel technologies including generative AI
