Rachel E. Barnes

With her education and professional background, Rachel brings a unique blend of business, law, and global perspectives to serve her clients’ needs. Rachel received her J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School and her M.B.A. from the Darden Graduate School of Business with a concentration in entrepreneurship.

While in law school, Rachel served as co-chair of the Diversity Committee of the Student Bar Association, on the editorial board of the Virginia Tax Review, and as a community fellow and peer advisor. She was selected as a 2019 Cowan Fellow, for which she traveled to Nepal and met with the Nepali judiciary, nongovernmental organizations, journalists, and political leaders regarding Nepal’s first democratic constitution. Rachel also served two terms as chair of the National Black Law Students Association.

In business school, Rachel was selected as a Forte Fellow and Consortium Fellow, and served as the vice president of finance for the Black Business Students Association.

Prior to law school and business school, Rachel worked for a global law firm as a paralegal in its corporate immigration practice. Her experience included providing organizational and practice-specific support to attorneys on a wide range of global mobility and US-based business immigration matters.
