Taylor C. Day advises clients in complex commercial and consumer class action litigation across a variety of sectors. He regularly counsels companies in commercial disputes involving privacy, consumer protection, unfair competition, breach of contract, and tort law. Taylor also devotes his practice to various privacy and data security compliance matters, including providing advice on the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and privacy notices. He often represents clients regarding privacy and security risks involving merger and acquisition transactions. The International Association of Privacy Professionals has designated him a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).
Taylor spent seven months in-house on secondment at a California health plan, where he managed outside counsel and actively defended numerous arbitrations. He also participated in the firm’s public interest fellowship program, where he analyzed energy-related legislation affecting California and supervised law students at civil and appellate law clinics.
A member of the firm’s global privacy and cybersecurity practice, Taylor has experience defending clients in lawsuits alleging violations of federal and state consumer privacy statutes. He is also a member of the firm’s Class Action Working Group, representing clients in consumer and product liability class actions.
Taylor maintains an active pro bono practice, representing asylum seekers in immigration court and before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services. He additionally serves as the vice chair of the Los Angeles office Pro Bono Committee.
On a volunteer basis, Taylor is a member of Public Counsel’s Leadership Council.

A maritime entity in dismissal of a toxic tort lawsuit alleging violations of the Jones Act
A favorable good-faith settlement of a federal Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) lawsuit concerning alleged soil contamination
A multinational retailer in counseling on compliance with federal and California state environmental regulations addressing electronic waste
A manufacturer in multiparty litigation regarding alleged groundwater contamination
A lending institution in securing an anti-SLAPP dismissal related to allegations of improper mortgage servicing and foreclosure issues
A national banking association in defending against several commercial real estate claims, which resulted in a dismissal of all claims that was later upheld on appeal
