Morgan Lewis Seminars

Social Media, Unions, and the NLRB

2011年6月8日
01:00 午後 - 02:00 午後 Eastern Daylight Time

Morgan Lewis partners Joe Ragaglia and Jonathan Fritts, with associate Ross Friedman, will present this webinar as part of the firm's Social Media Webinar Series.

In the not too distant past, employers and unions could negotiate their collective bargaining agreements with little or no information leaking out about their discussions. National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) notices were almost exclusively made out of paper and posted on bulletin boards, not on a company's intranet. Employee dissatisfaction with management or the employees' terms and conditions of employment were debated quietly around the water cooler or in the break room, not on Facebook.

As we know, those days are gone. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other social media now provide communication tools that have changed and will continue to change the employer-employee relationship. Join our discussion on the impact of social media on the labor/management relationship, union organizing, and corporate campaigns, and about the NLRB's efforts to regulate in the new, rapidly expanding and evolving world of Internet-supported social networks.
