NEW YORK, November 11, 2022: The American Lawyer named Morgan Lewis the Regional Litigation Department of the Year for Pennsylvania at the publication’s Industry Awards gala in New York.
The litigation practice was recognized for a series of wins, including its defense of Teva Pharmaceuticals and four affiliates that marked the first trial victory for drug companies in litigation filed by state and local governments stemming from the opioid crisis, and a pro bono case securing $700 million in emergency food benefits for Pennsylvanians.
Morgan Lewis was a finalist in the Best Client-Law Firm Team category for its partnership with 23andMe in a series of matters, including a de-SPAC resulting in the company’s debut on the Nasdaq Global Select Market, and for Law Firm Corporate Practice of the Year in the Health Care/Pharmaceuticals category for its work on significant healthcare and life sciences transactions. Morgan Lewis was also a finalist for the Corporate Purpose Award in recognition of the firm’s approach to confronting systemic racism with its Mobilizing for Equality Task Force.
