Former GC of Jefferies Returns to Morgan Lewis’ Securities Practice

NEW YORK, September 21, 2011: Morgan Lewis today announced that Lloyd H. Feller—the former Executive Vice President, General Counsel and secretary of Jefferies Group Inc and Jefferies & Company, Inc.—has returned to the firm as senior counsel in its Investment Management  and Securities Industry Practice, resident in New York. 

Mr. Feller is one of the country's best known and respected securities lawyers. Mr. Feller and AA Sommer, Jr., a former SEC Commissioner, were the founders of the firm's securities regulation practice, which now includes 100 professionals and roughly 30 SEC alumni serving the Firm's clients throughout the country.

Prior to joining Jefferies, Mr. Feller served as Senior Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel of SoundView Technology Group Inc. and its predecessor Wit Capital. Before joining Morgan Lewis in 1979, he was an associate director of the SEC's Division of Market Regulation (now Trading & Markets) in charge of the Office of Market Structure and Trading Practices, Chief Counsel to the SEC's Chief Accountant, and a legal assistant to two SEC Commissioners.

Mr. Feller has been a two time member of the Legal Advisory Board at the NASD (now FINRA), and a member of the E-Brokerage Committee of the NASD. He has also served on the Market Operations Review Committee of the NASDAQ Stock Market, as a member of the NASDAQ Review Council and is currently a member of the Nominating Committee for the NASDAQ Exchanges.
