PARIS, December 20, 2013: Morgan Lewis announced today that Sabine Smith-Vidal, a lawyer with more than two decades of experience handling multijurisdictional labor and employment matters for a wide array of clients, has joined the firm as partner in its Labor and Employment Practice, resident in Paris.

Ms. Smith-Vidal, who was most recently an employment partner at another global law firm, has counseled clients on all aspects of labor and employment law, including day-to-day human resources matters, complex restructurings and reorganizations, employee disputes, pension plans and traditional union and management matters.

“Sabine’s experience across Europe will serve well our multinational clients in their labor and employment law counseling and dispute resolution needs,” said Firm Chair Francis M. Milone. “Her addition to our Paris office furthers our strategy of building in Paris a strong team of lawyers with the experience and practice capabilities to serve our corporate clients both within and across the jurisdictions in which we practice. We also expect to continue recruiting strong partner and associate talent as we build our Paris office during 2014, commensurate with our clients’ needs.”

“We think our clients will really value Sabine’s ability to identify and provide practical solutions to the challenging issues that can arise under French employment law,” said Joseph J. Costello, leader of Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. “Her track record of helping employers in a variety of industry sectors to achieve their business objectives is what led us to conclude that she will be a perfect fit for our global practice.”

“We welcome Sabine to our Paris office, where she will be well positioned to help our clients to understand and successfully navigate the complexities of labor legislation and in particular recent changes whether implemented or contemplated by French government,” said Roland Montfort, Managing Partner of the Paris office. “She will be able to collaborate with the labor and employment attorneys in our offices across Europe, Asia and the United States to provide employers seeking counsel in France with sophisticated advice and representation on a vast array of employment law matters,” he added.
