Morgan Lewis Labor and Employment Partner Grace Speights Named to Lawyers of Color 2015 Power List

Wednesday, March 18, 2015

WASHINGTON, DC, March 18: Co-Managing Partner of the Washington, DC office, Grace Speights, a leading trial lawyer and a member of the elite American College of Trial Lawyers, has been named once again to the Lawyers of Color Power List.

The 2015 Power List is a comprehensive catalog of the nation’s most influential minority lawyers and non-minority legal diversity advocates, including corporate general counsel, law firm managing partners, law school deans, and government lawyers.

Ms. Speights, a partner in the firm’s Labor and Employment practice, is chair of the firm’s Systemic Employment Litigation practice, and co-chair of its Diversity Committee. She defends clients against employment discrimination claims—particularly class claims—and claims of discrimination in public accommodations. She also counsels on best practices for corporate diversity initiatives.

A number of publications and organizations have recognized Ms. Speights for her contributions to the profession, including Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, The Washington Business Journal, and Washingtonian magazine. In January, Law360 named her a Minority Powerbroker and featured Ms. Speights in a Q&A on the subject of diversity and her distinguished career.

Honorees will be recognized during a cocktail reception this evening in Washington for their exceptional careers and efforts to advance diversity in the legal profession.
