LOS ANGELES, September 9, 2015: Morgan Lewis West Coast Litigation leader Dan Grunfeld and Los Angeles office co-managing partner David Schrader have been named to the Daily Journal’s Top 100 Lawyers in California list for 2015. The publication profiled both partners in a special edition issued today.
Mr. Grunfeld focuses his practice on commercial and intellectual property litigation, serving as lead counsel in high-profile matters and acting as an adviser and strategist to clients on litigation, trial, and settlement issues. Named to the selective list for the second year in a row, his profile in the special supplement underscores the significant impact his work has had both in the private and public sectors. Earlier in the year he was recognized with the prestigious 2015 California Lawyer Attorney of the Year (CLAY) award for his exceptional work as lead counsel in a class action whose resolution led to major reforms in Los Angeles County’s General Relief program. In 2014, the firm's outstanding $131.2 million patent infringement victory for the Alfred E. Mann Foundation, which he played a lead role in securing, was named a top verdict by Law360 and the Daily Journal.
Mr. Schrader, an American College of Trial Lawyers fellow, represents clients across the United States in their most significant matters and has done so for 25 years. The Daily Journal highlights his ability to obtain defense verdicts at trial amidst an increasingly stringent regulatory environment. Mr. Schrader’s major trial victories include a complete defense verdict in Houston for a company being sued by Harris County for $1.6 billion in civil penalties. He is also undefeated in product liability trials, including silicone breast implant and asbestos cases.
The Daily Journal recognition is especially noteworthy given California’s more than 185,000 active bar members. Both partners were honored for their accomplishments at a reception in Beverly Hills on September 9, 2015.
