NEW YORK, October 21, 2015: Morgan Lewis and the Nikkei Asian Review will co-host a roundtable next month on Japan’s J-REIT industry and its impact on the country’s broader real estate market. The event will be supported by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in New York.
The sustained resurgence in Japan’s J-REIT market since the start of “Abenomics” in 2013 has renewed liquidity in Japan's real estate market and driven a wave of institutional investment, including in J-REITs and private real estate investment structures seeking an exit through a sale to J-REITs. During the “J-REIT CEO Roundtable and Market Update” on November 11 in New York, three of Japan’s leading real estate sector CEOs, as well as a premier industry analyst, will provide a comprehensive overview of the country’s J-REIT industry.
Morgan Lewis partner Bradley Edmister will moderate a panel discussion featuring SMBC Nikko’s Hiroshi Torii and three other top Japanese executives who represent Japanese and overseas strategic and financial sponsors covering virtually all real estate asset classes — Masato Miki of GLP Japan Advisors and GLP J-REIT; Toshi Kuroda of Oaktree Japan and Japan Rental Housing Investments; and Taisuke Miyajima of Kenedix.
The roundtable will take place at 3:00 PM at the Asia Society Auditorium (725 Park Avenue). A networking reception will follow at 5:30 PM.
