Morgan Lewis Named National Law Journal’s Southern California Litigation Practice of the Year

Thursday, December 10, 2015

LOS ANGELES, December 10, 2015: Morgan Lewis has been named Southern California Litigation Department of the Year by the National Law Journal. The practice was selected for the breadth and depth of its litigation team in southern California as well as the significant outcomes it secured for its clients, according to the publication.

In honoring the firm, the National Law Journal highlighted the zero liability verdict Morgan Lewis secured on behalf of International Paper in a multibillion dollar environmental lawsuit last fall, as well as the $131.2 million patent infringement victory the firm scored in the representation of Alfred E. Mann Foundation. The NLJ also cited a sweeping judgment in favor of Goulds Pumps, Inc., in a $50 million declaratory relief trial involving cutting-edge issues in insurance coverage for product liabilities; and the successful pro bono efforts of the firm to produce a critical overhaul of Los Angeles County’s General Relief Program and obtain nearly $8 million in compensation for 100,000 city residents. These representations have also earned accolades from other legal media, including Law360, the Daily Journal, and California Lawyer.

The firm received the honor at a reception Wednesday evening in Los Angeles and will be profiled in a special NLJ awards supplement later this month.
