LONDON, March 1, 2016: Morgan Lewis today celebrates the 35th anniversary of its London office.

Morgan Lewis has significantly bolstered its capabilities in London—particularly within the last year, through the addition of 10  partners in diverse practice areas such as structured transactions, private equity and investment management, employment law, and competition.

Morgan Lewis opened its London office with three lawyers on March 1, 1981, and now has nearly 80 lawyers in London. The office serves as a critical international portal for the firm to the world’s leading financial centres, offering business and commercial services to clients in the UK and worldwide. The growing London team counsels clients in cross-border transactions and financings, international commercial litigation and arbitration, insurance recovery and white collar crime, as well as UK and EU competition, tax, and employment law.

Commenting on the anniversary, Firm Chair Jami McKeon said: “Opening our London office marked the beginning of our emergence as an international firm, and it continues to play a central role in serving our clients on the world stage today.”

“With our more than three decades of experience in England’s capital, we offer comprehensive services to fulfill the English law needs of our global clients,” said Peter Sharp, managing partner of the firm’s London office. “Our deep benches in core skills, such as mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions, all types of finance, and in litigation and international arbitration, are backed by specialist capability in many areas, including tax, antitrust, labor and employment, investment management and other key disciplines.”
