PHILADELPHIA, November 1, 2016: Morgan Lewis has been named Law Firm of the Year for Antitrust Law and Litigation–Tax in the 2017 edition of the Best Law Firms rankings, released annually by US News & World Report and Best Lawyers.

The designation is awarded only to those law firms that have delivered exceptional results for their clients in a given practice area during the past 12 months following a rigorous client and peer evaluation process. This year, honorees were chosen from approximately 14,000 firms based upon nearly 70,000 client submissions and 900,000 peer reviews across the United States.

Morgan Lewis’s antitrust and competition practice boasts one of the deepest benches of antitrust lawyers in the market with more than 125 lawyers with broad competition law experience representing diverse clientele around the world in all areas of competition law, including criminal cartel and civil government investigations, high-profile merger clearance, and high-stakes litigation. The leading practice has also been recognized by the distinguished Legal 500 US and Chambers USA 2016 guides.

The firm’s global tax practice includes nearly 80 tax lawyers collaborating across 12 offices who represent clients in every major discipline of tax, including tax controversy and litigation, transfer pricing, corporate transactions, tax-exempt organizations, state and local tax, and payroll tax and fringe benefits, among others. The practice has also been ranked in the 2016 Chambers USA guide and recommended by publishers of the Legal 500 guides as well as Euromoney’s Guide to the World’s Leading Tax Advisors.

In August, the 23rd edition of Best Lawyers in America (2017) singled out nearly 250 Morgan Lewis lawyers in more than 50 practice categories and 16 metropolitan areas for distinction. Sixteen of the firm’s lawyers were named Lawyers of the Year, a prestigious honor presented annually to a single outstanding lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area, based on the highest peer ratings received.
