ORANGE COUNTY and SILICON VALLEY, April 18, 2019: Morgan Lewis partners Mark Itri and Michael Lyons have been selected as Top Intellectual Property Lawyers in California by Daily Journal.

With nearly 30 years of experience, Mark counsels clients on the full spectrum of IP matters. He regularly directs the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, and negotiates and drafts technology transfer agreements, joint development agreements, and licenses. In a profile of the honorees, Daily Journal highlighted Mark’s experience representing a “slew of major corporations,” including his patent prosecution work on behalf of a multinational technology company and his representation of a global security and aerospace company on patent prosecution and transactional matters.

Michael, a patent litigator, brings more than 25 years of experience to his IP rights practice. His patent, copyright, trade secret, and other technology-focused litigation involves tools that range from video streaming and consumer electronics’ circuit architecture to medical devices. Michael was profiled for his representation of the Alfred E. Mann Foundation in a patent infringement case against Cochlear Ltd, which resulted in the reinstatement of a $134 million jury verdict from 2014 and the doubling of damages for willful infringement—ranking it among the largest patent damages awards in 2018.
