PHILADELPHIA, April 1, 2019: Morgan Lewis is sponsoring the 2019 Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Journal Symposium—The Future of Sports at Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law on April 12. Morgan Lewis Chair Jami McKeon will join Jeffrey Kessler, a lawyer for the North American Soccer League, to discuss the future of women’s sports in the context of the recent movements for gender equity and equal pay. The symposium also will feature a discussion with Fanatics Executive Chairman Michael Rubin, Commissioner of the Big East Conference Val Ackerman, and Executive Director of the NBA Players Association Michele Roberts.
Jeff Moorad, a Morgan Lewis partner and Chairman of the firm’s global sports industry initiative, will host the 8th annual symposium and moderate a panel on issues arising from legalized gambling and the proliferation of data and its effect on privacy.
