Morgan Lewis partner Jennifer Breen spoke with Tax Notes about recent proposals before the Tax Court that could make it easier for underrepresented taxpayers to receive assistance for tax practitioners by allowing pro bono attorneys to make limited court appearances without taking on full trial responsibilities. Jennifer says in the article that pro bono lawyers often have short phone calls with taxpayers in which they try to coach them what to say in court, but that she would welcome a chance to appear on their behalf.
