In a Wall Street Journal article, Morgan Lewis partner Mike Puma says that the Department of Labor’s recent guidance on how to classify workers in virtual marketplaces will likely be viewed in a positive light by many companies in the gig economy. “It’s an increasing trend in recent years that [the Labor Department] is giving more flexibility to companies to engage in these nontraditional employment relationships,” Mike says in the article.
