Morgan Lewis has selected eight diverse law students as 2019 Morgan Lewis Foundation Diversity Scholarship winners. Chair of the Morgan Lewis Foundation and Chief Engagement Officer Amanda Smith told The American Lawyer that this year’s class of winners is “exceptionally diverse” and “share a collective passion for enhancing diversity in the legal industry.” The American Lawyer also spoke with associate Saba Habte who received the Diversity Scholarship award in 2016 while attending Boston College Law School. The daughter of an Eritrean refugee, Saba shared that her desire to become a lawyer came from her family’s experience and that the scholarship helped eliminate barriers to graduation.
