FRANKFURT, September 18, 2019: The Federal Republic of Germany has appointed Morgan Lewis partner Dr. Sabine Konrad as a member of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) Panel of Arbitrators for a third term.
The ICSID, a member of the World Bank group, is a globally renowned organization that provides a framework for the settlement of international investment disputes by conciliation, arbitration or fact-finding. ICSID member states designate panel representatives, who must demonstrate high moral character and exceptional competence in their field.
Previously appointed to the panel in 2007 and 2013, Sabine is a recognized leader in the investment treaty field in jurisdictions worldwide and in an array of industries, including energy, infrastructure, and banking. She has handled a number of firsts, including the first ICSID arbitration against Germany and the first treaty arbitration in Thailand.
Sabine is also on the panel of arbitrators of several prominent organizations, including the International Development Law Organization, Vienna International Arbitral Centre, Asian International Arbitration Centre, Singapore International Arbitration Centre, and Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.
