Judge Cites Progress on Protecting Migrants from Virus, Law360

Senior pro bono counsel Susan Baker Manning served as co-counsel to adult migrants seeking immediate release from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. While immediate release was not granted by US District Judge James Boasberg of the District of Columbia, he did order the family residential centers (FRCs) in Texas and Pennsylvania where the migrants are being detained to provide the detainees with the same COVID-19 safety protocols and procedures previously ordered for their children, including US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) compliant protocols and protections for congregate settings.
