Morrisons Ruling Leaves Door Open For Data Breach Suits, Law360

Morgan Lewis partner Pulina Whitaker was quoted in a Law 360 article about a recent UK Supreme Court ruling relating to a landmark data breach case. The ruling confirmed that employers are not liable for the actions of their rogue employees.

Commenting on the judgment, Pulina said that the case should be taken as “a reminder for all employers of the importance of robust recruitment and background screening procedures as well as monitoring IT systems and having a 'speak up' workplace culture to facilitate staff raising concerns in a protected manner.”
