Morgan Lewis partner Kenneth Polite’s comments at a recent briefing on voter intimidation threats and responses hosted by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law were highlighted in a Moyers on Democracy blog post. The post highlights some of Kenneth’s statements regarding the role of state and local law enforcement in cases of voter intimidation. “There is also a tremendous role to play for law enforcement leaders in terms of messaging,” he said. His recommendations to law enforcement leaders include “making public statements that emphasize… their commitment to protecting these constitutional rights, including their roles of protecting [against], evaluating and prosecuting this type of intimidation.”
