How Far Left Will CFPB Swing in 2021?, American Banker

Morgan Lewis of counsel Eamonn Moran was quoted in an article by American Banker about how the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB’s) focus could change under the new presidential administration. According to the article, a change in leadership could revert processes back to how they were during the Obama administration. “Everybody is expecting a more aggressive and active CFPB on a number of fronts,” said Eamonn, who is a former attorney of the CFPB’s Office of Regulations. “There will likely be more mortgage-related investigations and a laser beam focus on what servicers are doing not to harm consumers,” Eamonn said.
