Morgan Lewis Adds Insurance Litigation Partner Andrew Enschedé in Washington, DC

October 18, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC, October 18, 2021: Andrew Enschedé, who has more than 25 years of experience representing multinational companies in insurance coverage and business transaction dispute resolution, rejoins Morgan Lewis today as a partner resident in Washington, DC. Andrew, who will also serve clients from the firm’s Chicago and European offices, arrives from Greenberg Traurig.

“We are pleased to welcome Andrew back to our firm, where he rejoins his colleagues in our sophisticated insurance coverage practice, and brings years of experience representing multinational companies in complex litigation matters,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Andrew brings decades of experience as policyholder counsel, across several industries and risk management issues.”

A native of the Netherlands, Andrew practiced law in Chicago for more than two decades. He advises clients across the oil and gas, chemical, food, and manufacturing industries on insurance coverage and commercial litigation matters. He also regularly counsels policyholders regarding insurer insolvencies, continually monitors developments regarding insurance carriers, and advises on the effects of corporate transactions in relation to historic insurance policies, past liabilities, and go-forward coverage programs.

“Andrew is well known in the insurance litigation space, especially for handling the gamut of issues from traditional insurance recovery and captive insurance matters,” said Gordon Cooney, leader of the firm’s litigation practice. “He speaks four languages and truly appreciates cultural differences that are paramount in conducting business globally. He is an outstanding strategic fit with our global platform, including working closely with our colleagues in Europe who engage with clients doing business around the world.”

Andrew joins a recognized team of insurance recovery, product liability, and mass tort lawyers led by partner Paul Zevnik, with whom he worked previously at the Zevnik Horton LLP boutique before its lawyers combined with Morgan Lewis. The practice was recently selected as a finalist for The American Lawyer’s 2021 Insurance Department of the Year and a finalist for The National Law Journal’s Washington, DC, Litigation Department of the Year in the Insurance specialty category. The National Law Journal also named Paul as an Insurance Trailblazer earlier this year. Andrew’s arrival follows that of partner Sergio Oehninger, who joined the firm’s Washington insurance team last spring.
