DOJ Duo Joins Morgan Lewis, CDR

Friday, July 22, 2022

The arrival of Kate Deal, a former assistant US attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, as a partner in Morgan Lewis’s Philadelphia office was highlighted by CDR Magazine. In the article, Kate said, “It is a great opportunity to join an exceptional practice with a deep bench of civil litigators and white-collar practitioners too, I couldn’t pass it up.” The piece notes that she welcomes the chance to work again with such high-profile figures as former US Attorney Zane David Memeger and ex-colleagues including Amy Schuh, both current Morgan Lewis partners.

“I am aiming to combine my experiences, with my primary focus on aggregate civil litigation and trial work including putative class actions and mass tort matters, but now having had the benefit of experience as a white-collar prosecutor, I can also offer advice to clients facing white-collar proceedings or a parallel regulatory inquiry.” The firm’s “historically strong litigation, regulatory, retail and life sciences practices . . . are a natural fit for me,” she noted in the piece.

The article also covered the arrival of partner Justin Weitz to the firm.
