Biden Lays Path to Cyber Regulations for Critical Infrastructure, Bloomberg Law

Associate Arjun Prasad Ramadevanahalli was quoted by Bloomberg Law for a story about the Biden administration’s push to shore up cybersecurity for 16 critical infrastructure sectors in the country. Arjun noted that what begins as a voluntary measure for an industry regularly becomes a requirement.

“We recently saw that with the pipeline industry, and the way that evolution started, right, was sort of a mixed patchwork of industry-established standards and guidelines from the federal government that were completely voluntary,” Arjun said, referring to pipeline cybersecurity standards set by the Transportation Security Administration following a ransomware attack on a major pipeline in 2021.
