LONDON, November 26, 2012: EDF Energy, through its new nuclear subsidiary NNB GenCo, has today been granted the nuclear site licence for the Hinkley Point C plant in Somerset, UK.
The Office for Nuclear Regulation issued the licence following a detailed examination of EDF Energy's plans and procedures for the new nuclear site. Morgan Lewis has been acting as sole legal advisor to EDF Energy and NNB GenCo on the nuclear site licence application process since 2009.
The Morgan Lewis team was led by Energy partners Jay Gutierrez, Susan Quint and Steven Frantz, with Energy associate Stephen Burdick.
