Tuesday, July 23, 2019

LOS ANGELES and SAN FRANCISCO, July 23, 2019: Morgan Lewis partners Harry Johnson and Robert Lewis have been named among the Daily Journal’s Top Labor and Employment Lawyers in California for 2019.

Once a member of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and now co-leader of the firm’s US Labor/Management Relations practice, Harry practices across the entire traditional union/labor field. He regularly defends clients in complex wage and hour class and collective actions under both California and federal law, with experience in more than 40 such cases. Harry is recognized for his work on the NLRB, authoring “influential dissenting opinions that have since been adopted by courts to change the labor law landscape.” He regularly contributes to Morgan Lewis’s Labor & Employment Now video series, which provides vital tips and information for corporate in-house lawyers and human resources professionals to help them negotiate the complexities of labor and employment laws and regulations.

Robert is a veteran trial lawyer whose complex commercial litigation practice emphasizes software litigation, professional liability defense, unfair competition and trade secrets litigation, and insurance. He is recognized for helping obtain a unanimous decision by the California Supreme Court that found employees could not bring third party breach-of-contract claims against payroll companies. This reversed a Court of Appeal decision that imposed direct liability on payroll processing companies and threatened to upend the payroll industry in California.

Profiles of Harry and Robert were published in the July 10 edition of the Daily Journal.
