LOS ANGELES, April 17, 2018: The Los Angeles Business Journal has named Morgan Lewis partners Debra L. Fischer and Barbara A. Fitzgerald among the 2018 Most Influential Women Attorneys in Los Angeles. The annual awards recognize female lawyers for their exceptional legal skills and achievements, as well as their contributions to the Los Angeles community.
Ms. Fischer has practiced employment law and unfair competition/trade secret litigation for nearly 30 years, successfully trying cases in both California state and federal courts, as well as representing clients in arbitrations. She counsels employers in all aspects of employment law compliance, risk avoidance, and crisis management, and represents local emerging companies as well as national and international corporations. Ms. Fischer also serves as president of the board of directors of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, which provides civil legal aid to poor and low income individuals in Los Angeles County.
Ms. Fitzgerald, managing partner of Morgan Lewis’s Los Angeles office, is also a labor and employment partner, and represents employers in all areas of employment law. Her practice emphasizes litigation, primarily the defense of claims for wrongful termination, workplace harassment and retaliation, employment discrimination, and individual and class wage and hour claims. Ms. Fitzgerald supports the Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), a nonprofit organization that provides underserved youth with programs in academics, arts, and athletics.
