Federal Law May Prompt Corporate Whistle-blowers to Act, San Francisco Chronicle

Morgan Lewis partner Mark Krotoski, a former top official in the US attorney’s office in the Northern District of California, was interviewed concerning the recent federal trade secret statutes (Defend Trade Secret Act) and the impact of the whistle-blower provision. As noted in the article, Krotoski "says the importance of the whistle-blower provision [in the statute] remains to be seen. He acknowledges that the provision grants whistle-blowers powerful protections. But Krotoski argues that only a small percentage of such cases concern true whistle-blowers who want to report fraud."
