The American Lawyer named Morgan Lewis partner Grace Speights as Attorney of the Year and the firm won Best Law Firm Business Team and Regional Litigation Department of the Year for Pennsylvania at the publication’s inaugural Industry Awards gala on December 5 in New York.
Grace was recognized for her work in spearheading high-profile internal investigations and counseling corporations on navigating the new workplace paradigm in the wake of the #MeToo movement. The American Lawyer noted Grace has “redefined the employment lawyer’s role in the movement.” With Grace as the leader of Morgan Lewis’s global labor and employment practice, the firm has advised clients on responding and adapting to the myriad issues arising from workplace harassment claims. “Speights and her team were behind many of the investigations of the organizations whose #MeToo stories have made headlines in the past year,” The American Lawyer wrote. “This honor confirms Grace’s position as one of the great lawyers of our time,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Under Grace’s leadership, Morgan Lewis has blazed the trail for others to follow in addressing issues of workplace harassment and misconduct.”
Morgan Lewis also won Best Law Firm Business Team, highlighting the firm’s exceptional delivery of client services “using data analytics, creative fee arrangements, a business intelligence dashboard, and more,” and Regional Litigation Department of the Year for Pennsylvania, acknowledging the significant litigation wins for clients in the Keystone State.
“It’s the hard work and dedication of so very many people whose collaborative energy and focus on client service catapult Morgan Lewis to the winner’s circle,” said Jami. “We are honored to be the recipient of these distinguished recognitions.”
