SAN FRANCISCO and SILICON VALLEY, September 18, 2018: Morgan Lewis has been named “US: San Francisco and Silicon Valley Tax Firm of the Year” by International Tax Review as part of its Americas Tax Awards for 2018. The awards honor the outstanding cross-border work—based on size, innovation, complexity, and impact—of firms and individual lawyers in the tax industry.

With 90 tax lawyers resident in 10 offices across the United States and Europe, Morgan Lewis’s deep bench of tax team members represents clients in virtually all major industries and across all major areas of tax. In California, the firm’s tax lawyers provide advice to large corporate taxpayers on sophisticated issues, including all aspects of transfer pricing, from planning to controversy and litigation; the characterization of transactions and sourcing of income, including those unique to the digital economy; Subpart F, withholding and other issues, foreign tax credits, and treaty application; and issues relating to manufacturing supply chain planning and the Section 199 domestic production deduction.

In 2017, International Tax Review recognized Morgan Lewis’s representation of a group of institutional investors in the purchase of $325 million in senior notes as “Americas Banking Tax Deal of the Year,” and tax partner John Magee was honored as “Americas Transfer Pricing Practice Leader of the Year” in the previous submission period.
