CENTURY CITY and SILICON VALLEY, August 1, 2018: Morgan Lewis today welcomes Eric Hwang and Christopher Rose to its global corporate transactions team. Mr. Hwang will be resident in Silicon Valley and San Francisco; Mr. Rose will be resident in Century City and Silicon Valley.

Both new partners join Morgan Lewis from another global law firm, where they advised clients on numerous significant deals, mostly in the technology and life sciences industries. Both also have experience as in-house counsel at major corporations.

“As lawyers who have worked at the highest levels of business, Eric and Chris bring to our clients a fundamental understanding of what it takes to craft a successful deal,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “They exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit of California, and will work with our clients on all aspects of growing and developing their businesses, from initial financing and startup through acquisition and sale.”

Mr. Hwang is a former in-house M&A lawyer and director of corporate development for a global technology company, where he managed all aspects of the tech giant’s numerous acquisitions, including nearly half of its announced acquisitions over a three-and-a-half-year period. He focuses his practice on advising technology, life sciences, and healthcare companies, as well as investment banks and venture capital and private equity clients, on complex, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, strategic joint ventures, venture capital and private equity investments, and corporate governance.

He advises on M&A matters, initial public offerings, and venture capital and private equity investments. He also counsels on compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, New York Stock Exchange, and NASDAQ requirements and other corporate governance issues.

“As the newest members of our thriving corporate transactional team in California, Eric and Chris will provide critical assistance to technology, life sciences, and other clients engaged in M&A activities, and advise on a wide range of investments,” said Steve Browne, leader of Morgan Lewis’s corporate and business transactions practice. “They bring extraordinary insight and a client’s perspective to their work with businesses, investors, and innovators in one of the world’s leading entrepreneurial economies.”
