HOUSTON, July 9, 2015: Morgan Lewis represented Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. in the purchase by its wholly-owned subsidiary Pennsylvania Services Corporation of the 50% interest in its natural gas exploration and production joint venture, Pennsylvania Land Resources Holding Company, LLC, owned by EDF Trading Resources, LLC.
The $126 million transaction will enable Alpha, one of the largest coal suppliers in the United States, to expand and control a natural gas development program comprised of more than 25,000 net acres and associated infrastructure in the Marcellus Shale.
The Morgan Lewis team was led by partner William (Bill) Parish with support from partner Paul Gordon and of counsels Eric Marcuson, Chris Ramsey, Randy McGeorge and Maxine Woelfling. Associates Vincent Schuster, Ian Furman and Pete Hays also advised on the transaction.
