PHILADELPHIA, May 5, 2011: Today, Sun Capital Partners, Inc., a leading private investment firm specializing in leveraged buyouts and investments in market-leading companies, announced that an affiliate has sold Big 10 Tires, the seventh-largest independent tire dealer in the U.S., to Pep Boys, an automotive aftermarket service and retail chain. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Morgan Lewis advised Sun Capital and Big 10 Tires on the transaction. The team was led by Business and Finance partner W. Ryan Davis and included Intellectual Property partner Anita Polott, and Tax partner Ken Kail, as well as Employee Benefits of counsel Randall McGeorge and associates Chad Cowan, Eric Marcuson, Mark Opitz, and Meredith Rettaliata.
