BOSTON, April 4, 2016: Morgan Lewis and the British American Business Council of New England (BABCNE) will host Biogen Chief Executive Officer George Scangos, Ph.D on the evening of Thursday, April 7 for a CEO Forum on “Drug Discovery & Development, Current Status and Future Prospects.”
Dr. Scangos has served as Biogen CEO and board member since July 2010. In November 2015 he was named one of the world’s ten best performing CEOs by Harvard Business Review. Before joining Biogen, Dr. Scangos was President and CEO at Exelixis, Inc. Dr. Scangos was also previously President of Bayer Biotechnology. Prior to his time with Bayer he was a professor of biology at Johns Hopkins University, where he remains an adjunct professor. Dr. Scangos is a current member of the boards of Exelixis and Agilent Technologies. He is also on the National Board of Visitors for the UC Davis School of Medicine and the Board of Trustees of the Boston Museum of Science.
