PHILADELPHIA, March 29, 2019: Firm Chair Jami McKeon has been honored by the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia with its prestigious Paradigm Award. The award is presented annually to a businesswoman whose outstanding professional and personal achievements serve as a model for success.

“Jami is one of our region’s most influential leaders. Her outstanding efforts to promote diversity within the legal community are widely recognized,” said Chamber President and CEO Rob Wonderling in an article announcing Jami as the winner. “We are truly fortunate to have someone of Jami’s stature within our community.”

Jami became chair of Morgan Lewis in 2014 and was unanimously reelected for a second five-year term in 2018. She is the first woman to lead the firm in its 145-year history and is one of the few women leading a global law firm today. Jami has appointed dozens of women as office managing partners, practice group leaders, industry sector leaders, and firm advisory board and compensation committee members. In 2015, she launched ML Women, an initiative that harnesses the strength of the firm’s women lawyers through partnerships with clients and creates opportunities for women to come together around a shared industry or practice.

As part of the awards program, Jami was given the opportunity to designate $25,000 to charities that support education, entrepreneurs, and equity in the workforce, provided with support from EY. She selected Mighty Writers, an organization that teaches children to think clearly and write with clarity, and Live Like Blaine, a foundation that works to empower young women to become leaders through athletics.
