NEW YORK, June 20, 2018: The Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) has recognized Morgan Lewis with Gold Standard Certification for the fourth consecutive year. WILEF calls itself “the premier organization for women in law exclusively dedicated to women from the largest law firms and corporate law departments in the United States.”
While WILEF granted Gold Standard status to 42 law firms this year, only 15 firms—including Morgan Lewis—met the mandatory criteria of having women comprise at least 20% of the equity partnership or having 33% of women lawyers becoming equity partners during the past 12 months, plus all five (rather than at least three) of the secondary criteria:
“Morgan Lewis fully appreciates the value of diverse teams and perspectives, so WILEF’s Gold Standard certification is particularly rewarding this year because it demonstrates our continuing commitment to one of our core values,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “We are privileged to have many talented women at our firm and continually rely on their invaluable input at all stages of leadership and lawyering.”
WILEF was established in 2007 and launched its Gold Standard Certification initiative in 2011. Morgan Lewis first won the status in 2015. Read WILEF’s press release on this year’s Gold Standard firms here.
