PALO ALTO, September 28, 2015: The Recorder recognized Melinda Riechert, who heads the Northern California labor and employment practice at Morgan Lewis and the firm’s Silicon Valley office, among the publication’s Women Leaders in Tech Law. The 2015 honorees were chosen based on their recent achievements as litigators, dealmakers, advisers and strategists in the tech industry, as well as in leadership roles at their organizations or in the legal community.
Ms. Riechert defends clients in a broad range of employment disputes, including wage and hour, whistleblower, wrongful termination, discrimination, and trade secret matters. She has won numerous summary judgments, arbitration awards, and court and jury trials. Chambers USA has named Melinda one of the leading US lawyers for employment law since 2007, noting her “straightforward courtroom style which endears her to juries.”
In a September 25 Q&A, Ms. Riechert shares thoughts on what can be done to tackle the tech industry’s gender gap, the best career advice she ever received, and names her dream job (apart from her current one). The winners are being recognized at a September 29 dinner reception in San Francisco.
