SILICON VALLEY, March 28, 2017: Morgan Lewis partner Mark Krotoski and associate Ellie Chapman have received a 2017 Antitrust Writing Award from Concurrences, a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to European Union and national competition laws, for an article written by the lawyers in July 2016.

Decision Holds That Search Warrant Cannot Compel Data Stored Overseas” was singled out for recognition as an honoree in the Procedure section of the awards’ Business category. In addition to Mr. Krotoski and Ms. Chapman’s article, four additional pieces authored by Morgan Lewis lawyers were among those nominated for awards in various categories:

The Antitrust Writing Awards were established to promote competition scholarship and to contribute to competition advocacy. A jury of more than 50 international antitrust experts, including leading enforcers, academics and counsels, determined the shortlist of finalists after reviewing 600 of the year’s most meaningful antitrust publications. The 20 award-winning articles were then selected by the distinguished board members: Douglas Ginsburg (George Mason University School of Law, Professor), Frédéric Jenny (OECD Competition Committee, Chairman), William Kovacic (George Washington University Competition Law Center, Professor), Johannes Laitenberger (DG COMP, Director-General), Maureen Ohlhausen (FTC, Acting Chairman), Rose Webb (Competition Commission Hong Kong, Chief Executive Officer), Marc van der Woude (General Court, Court of Justice of the European Union, Judge), and Joshua Wright (George Mason University School of Law, Professor).

Morgan Lewis’s antitrust and competition practice boasts one of the deepest benches of antitrust lawyers in the market with more than 125 lawyers with broad competition law experience representing diverse clientele around the world in all areas of competition law, including criminal cartel and civil government investigations, high-profile merger clearance, and high-stakes litigation. The firm was recently named Law Firm of the Year for Antitrust Law in the 2017 edition of the Best Law Firms rankings, released annually by US News & World Report and Best Lawyers. The leading practice has also been recognized in the industry guides compiled by distinguished legal directory publishers Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500, Global Competition Review and Benchmark Litigation.

Honorees will be recognized during an Awards Gala Dinner this evening in Washington, DC.
