Morgan Lewis Litigation Partner Named to Diversity & The Bar’ s Prestigious Rainmaker List

SAN FRANCISCO, November 17, 2015: Morgan Lewis litigation partner Charlene “Chuck” Shimada has been named to Diversity & The Bar ’s prestigious Rainmaker List (2015). Ms. Shimada was featured in the magazine’s November/December issue among a select group of prominent minority outside counsel with a proven record of achieving success on behalf of their clients.

Ms. Shimada’s practice concentrates on securities litigation defense, corporate governance, class actions, and complex commercial litigation. Chuck represents issuing corporations, officers and directors, underwriters, and public accounting firms, not only in private litigation, but also in investigations and proceedings by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, US Department of Justice, US Internal Revenue Service, and Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.

The publication describes Ms. Shimada as a “woman of many firsts” and highlights her leadership in and outside the firm. Ms. Shimada co-founded Women in Securities, a network for women securities defense litigator in the Bay Area that seeks to promote development and advancement. She also serves on the Bar Association of San Francisco’s board of directors and is a Ninth Circuit lawyer representative. Ms. Shimada has been recognized in the past for her work, including by The Recorder, the Asian American Bar Association, and Chambers and Partners, Best Lawyers, Legal 500, and Super Lawyers publications.
