WASHINGTON, February 10, 2017: Morgan Lewis Structured Transactions partner Claudine Chen-Young has been named a 2017 Minority Business Leader by the Washington Business Journal. These awards recognize the Washington region's top 25 minority business leaders based on demonstrated business success over the past 12 to 18 months. Nominations are judged based on professional accomplishments, community leadership and philanthropy, in addition to awards and milestones.
Ms. Chen-Young focuses her practice on advising issuers and various underwriters in connection with asset financings and securitizations involving mortgage loans and mortgage-related assets, as well as credit card, auto and floorplan receivables, among other financial assets. She also regularly advises a broad range of financial institutions including banks, investment firms, and finance companies on a variety of other financial transactions. In addition, Ms. Chen-Young advises a number of financial institutions in connection with acquisitions and dispositions of portfolios of assets, with a strong emphasis on mortgage loan trading transactions.
Ms. Chen-Young has been recognized as a “Rising Star” for both 2016 and 2017 by the IFLR1000, which reviews the leading financial and corporate law firms around the world and ranks individuals who are recognized by both peers and clients as leading lawyers in their related area of specialization. She is also active in the predominant industry group for market participants in the areas of structured finance and related products by speaking on symposium panels and participating on task force committees.
The award recipients will be honored at the 10th annual Minority Business Leader Awards reception and ceremony on March 23, and will also be profiled in the publication's March 24 issue.
