LONDON, October 5, 2015: Global law firm Morgan Lewis has enhanced its Tax Practice and continued the expansion of its leading structured transactions capability in London with the addition of corporate tax partner Paul Beausang, who joins the firm today.
Mr. Beausang is a member of the five-partner structured finance team, led by Matthew Duncan and including Julian A. Goodman, Paul J. Matthews, and Theresa Kradjian, that joined the London office in summer 2015. The partners previously practiced together as a core structured transactions group at another global law firm. Collectively, the team offers a full suite of complementary finance capabilities within Morgan Lewis’s market-leading US Structured Transactions Practice and enhances the firm’s ability to serve clients across the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Asia./p>
“We continue to enhance our London capabilities to reflect the UK’s importance to our clients and our firm globally,” said Morgan Lewis Chair Jami McKeon. “Paul adds a new dimension to our tax team and he completes the group of partners that recently joined us to add critical breadth and experience to our market-leading structured transactions practice in the US.”
Mr. Beausang advises clients on a broad range of corporate and structured finance tax issues in domestic and global transactions. His focus includes structured finance taxation, real estate taxation, and public/private partnerships. A pioneer in this area, Mr. Beausang has frequently assisted clients on first-of-a-kind projects, including advising large institutional investors on restructuring and redomiciling multiple real estate fund portfolios. He was previously a corporate tax partner at a leading global law firm and a tax consultant at a Big Four accounting firm and is an Associate of the Institute of Taxation in Ireland.
“Paul adds valuable specialized tax experience to our structured transactions team, and he strengthens our tax capabilities in London and globally,” said Morgan Lewis structured transactions practice leader Reed Auerbach. “These London partners have worked together for many years, which will be an asset in serving our clients’ increasingly sophisticated needs worldwide.”
