Friday, August 23, 2013

PRINCETON, August 23, 2013: Morgan Lewis today announced that environmental litigators John McGahren and Stephanie Feingold have joined the firm as partners in its Litigation Practice, resident in Princeton. Both were formerly lawyers at Patton Boggs.

"Bringing John and Stephanie on board was a natural choice," noted Ron Tenpas, Co-Leader of Morgan Lewis's Environmental Litigation Practice. "Together they have deep experience and success working with clients across the spectrum of possible environmental litigation claims. We look forward to working with them on initiatives in New Jersey and elsewhere."

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. McGahren was managing partner of the New Jersey office of Patton Boggs. He focuses his practice on a variety of environmental litigation enforcement and compliance matters. He frequently represents clients on commercial litigation, products liability, toxic tort, and government contract claims, and counsels clients on both federal and state regulatory matters. Mr. McGahren previously served as a project officer at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where he worked as a licensed professional engineer in the Region II Superfund program, working on sites in New York, New Jersey and Puerto Rico.

Ms. Feingold counsels clients in connection with investigations and enforcement actions by environmental and government agencies and has represents major corporations, insurers and reinsurers in litigation, mediation and arbitration. She has experience leading joint defense groups and serving as coordinating counsel in multi-party litigations, and has handled environmental aspects of real estate transactions. She is certified as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associate.

"John and Stephanie's arrival increases the number of trial lawyers we have resident in Princeton, thus bringing more litigation experience related to New Jersey and its state courts to our firm," said Jami McKeon, Leader of the Litigation Practice. "We are thrilled to have John and Stephanie—two respected and well-regarded litigators—join us in Princeton."

Mr. McGahren and Ms. Feingold join a team of nearly 700 trial lawyers working from 20 offices around the world. The firm's environmental litigators handle high-stakes Superfund cost-recovery matters; mass toxic torts; defense against citizen suits; defense against government enforcement actions; appeals; and insurance recovery disputes. The Environmental Litigation team includes former high-ranking federal and state government lawyers, including the U.S. Department of Justice's former Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division, several former U.S. Attorneys, and the former chair of the Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board.
