Morgan Lewis Continues London Office Growth With Labour & Employment Partner Hire

October 08, 2012

LONDON-October 8, 2012: Morgan Lewis today announced that Nick Thomas—an employment lawyer with skills in contentious and transactional matters—has joined the firm as a partner in its Labour and Employment practice. Nick was most recently a partner at Pinsent Masons.

"With his versatility, energy and dedication to client service, Nick's arrival is a great addition to our London office," noted Joseph J. Costello, leader of the firm's Labour and Employment practice. "He has built a growing profile in the UK market and adds critical mass to our highly skilled and expanding London Employment team led by Matthew Howse."

Nick advises on all aspects of employment law, assisting clients on complex restructurings and reorganizations, acquisitions and outsourcing projects, and employee disputes. His litigation experience includes working on a number of high-profile discrimination claims before the UK High Court and the Employment Tribunal.  Nick has represented clients across a wide range of industries including financial institutions, private equity investors, insurance, IT, transport, power, facilities management, communications, and manufacturing.

Morgan Lewis has unrivalled experience of advising on every type of labour and employment issue that confronts a business. Nick joins a practice with over 270 lawyers based across 18 of the firm's international offices.

Nick's arrival complements the addition earlier this year of a market-leading immigration team, led by partner Tracy Evlogidis. He also reinforces the firm's highly rated international Labour and Employment practice, which Chambers Global describes as "A go-to firm for employment matters." Chambers also acknowledges the firm's UK employment team, quoting client comments that London practice leader, Matthew Howse, is "able to quickly advise on solutions and options from a sound commercial viewpoint."

The firm's London office has experienced substantial growth in 2012, with a Private Investment Funds team of four lawyers led by two partners, a team of eight Business and Finance lawyers led by three partners and a team of seven Litigation lawyers led by three partners joining the firm this year alongside Tracy.
